The AAU Hoop: Fall, Winter 1, Winter 2 and Spring Youth Basketball Instructional leagues as well as our August Basketball Fundamentals Summer Camp are for boys and girls in grades Kindergarten thru 8th Grade. Each of the 4 seasons of play throughout the school year consist of 8 instructional co-ed basketball sessions. We offer basketball training on Sunday afternoon (at the Boys & Girls Club in Schenectady) or Thursday night (at a Niskayuna elementary school) and parents choose which day they would like their child to play during the registration process. 

We allow players to "play up" or "play down" a grade level so 1st graders can play at the 2nd grade level and 4th graders can play at the 3rd grade level etc. We aim to create a fun and memorable experience whereby players learn more about the game of basketball, become better at it and want to play it more. If players have a great experience it can positively impact their life off the court which is a great result. Players will learn the fundamentals in basketball stations and then get to play competitive games. Each player will receive a basketball tee shirt.
